Ann Linde

Ann Linde is one of Sweden’s most experienced politicians in foreign affairs and has played a central role in many critical events such as the NATO process, handling the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the evacuation of Afghanistan, and the 9000 Swedes who were stranded during the pandemic. In 2021 Ann was chairperson of OSCE, the Organization for Safety and Collaboration in Europe, where she handled multiple crises and made epochal decisions regarding climate and security possible. Between 2014 and 2016 Ann was State Secretary and led The Swedish Government Offices crisis management, with difficult tasks such as the big wave of refugees of 2015, the terrorist attacks on Europe, and the group of Swedes joining IS.  Ann has substantial experience with EU-related questions from being an EU minister, international secretary for The Swedish Social Democratic Party, and chief of the European Social Democratic Party’s international department in Brussels.  As the responsible minister of trade, Ann took part in important trade negotiations agreements within the EU and led many delegations to different countries in the world to promote export. Her solid experience from working with EU polices makes her a skilled speaker, who is able to both relate to historical events in the eye of a crisis, and connect it to current foreign policy analyses. During her career, Ann Linde has built an impressive global network.. At the end of the eighties, she was hired by the Government Offices and has since then worked in many departments, for example the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, and the Ministry of Justice.
