Henrietta Kekäläinen

Henrietta Kekäläinen is the CEO & Co-founder of Carbo Culture, a clean technology company aiming to draw down a million tons of carbon within the next five years. Her company has a novel technology to manufacture a biocarbon product from waste. The product is used as a platform to reinstate health and productivity to destroyed soils. She previously founded Mehackit.org, enabling highschool students and teachers to have a hands-on introduction to robotics and programming via projects in art and music. The company has taught teachers and mentors from Colombia to Korea, and the team continues to thrive. Henrietta Kekäläinen is a 2013 alumna of Singularity University, and she is part of the Start X entrepreneurs community. She was chosen as an IMAGE Hero of the year in 2017 (in Finland), and is nominated as a WEF Global Shaper. She has spoken at private events with people such as: the ex Vice President of the United States Al Gore, the President of Finland Dr. Sauli Niinistö, Nobel Laureate Bengt Holmström and Unilever CEO Paul Pollman, to name a few. She has also spoken at large events such as SLUSH.
