Anna Throne-Holst served as the mayor of Southampton from 2010 to 2015, focusing on sustainable development, economic growth, and social issues.
After her time as mayor, Throne-Holst continued to be active in politics and social issues. She ran for the U.S. Congress in 2016 as the Democratic candidate for New York’s First Congressional District. Although she did not win the election, she has continued to be a prominent voice in social issues and politics.
Anna Throne-Holst is also involved in several non-profit organizations and continues to work to improve society through her commitment to education, environmental issues, and social justice. Her international background and diverse experiences have given her a unique perspective and the ability to navigate complex political and social landscapes.
Anna currently serves as the CEO of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York. There, she continues to work with social entrepreneurship and aims to position Sweden as a country of innovation in the USA. Among other things, she has worked with the Gateway project, a meeting place for Swedish companies operating in or entering the American market.
