Joakim delves into emerging technologies, tools, methodologies, and mindsets to understand potential futures, equipping himself to make the right strategic decisions today. His approach is rooted in foresight, experimentation, dialogue, and collaboration, with a focus on an exploratory mindset.

At Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova, he has built a team that focuses on exploring strategic foresight and identifying and financing early stages of emerging technologies, methodologies, and societal phenomena. He has also initiated a national network dedicated to foresight and fostered numerous international collaborations in the field.

Joakim is a passionate speaker who guides the audience through the initial steps of becoming futurists and being part of creating a desirable tomorrow. He also explains emerging technologies and their impact on society with accessible and up-to-date examples. He thrives on speaking before thousands at large events or digitally, as well as in more intimate settings.

With an M.Sc. in computer science, Joakim has further developed his expertise through studies in neurology and cognitive psychology. Before his role at Vinnova, he served as an innovation manager at a prominent Swedish credit and risk firm with a presence in 19 European countries.
